It’s already time to think about Winter Taxes.   I have been working on tax collection dates and times, talking with the Drain Commissioner on Special Drain Assessments.   If you are going to have a Drain Assessment this year you will be notified by the Drain office if you haven’t already received notice.

This year the due dates are different than normal, as they were different last winter.   Taxes will be due December 1, 2009 thru February 16, 2010.   On February 17, 2010, unpaid taxes receive a 3% penalty until March 1.   On March 2, they are delinquent and sent to the County Treasurer for collection.   At that time they are subject to 1% interest per month or portion of a month with a 4% Admin fee ($1.00 minimum).

As in past years I will collect taxes anytime I am in the office.   Other tax collection times and dates are:

DECEMBER:

Tuesday   December 15^th 10:00 AM – 2:00PM

                December 29, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM   (lunch 12:30 to 1:30)

JANUARY

Tuesday January 12,   10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

                January 26, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

FEBRUARY

Tuesday February 16, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM   (lunch 12:30 – 1:30)

MARCH

Monday March 1, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (lunch 12:30 – 1:30)

You may also pay by mail, use 24 hour drop box on the upper level.  

If you pay with cash you must have the correct amount.

If paying by mail please enclose a self addressed stamped envelope for landfill passes and your receipt.

   Landfill hours are Monday thru Friday 7am to 4:30 pm & Saturday 7:30 am to 12 noon.   They no longer accept refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners or dehumidifiers, even if freeon has been removed.
